Dancing is Great

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Last night, some of us went to a concert where there was a lot of dancing.

(In case there’s any confusion, that green line depicts the divide between stage and crowd)

So much dancing that I couldn’t help thinking to myself what a great art form dancing is.  And really, if you think about it, it’s good for everyone’s well being.  It can clearly keep you in shape (good exercise), and can be very entertaining for those around you…

so whether it’s Dirty Dancing..

or Frank Gehry’s Dancing Building…

do yourself and those around you a favor by cutting a rug every now and again.  The world will be a better place, I promise.

This Halloween…

It’s the day of Halloween and you have no idea what to pick as a costume.  You’ve gone through all of the clever puns, topical movie/TV icons, and political figures, yet you’re still stumped.  Nothing quite fits your fancy.

And then it hits you! You’ll be Bob Ross.

Everyone loves that guy.  He was so magical, what with his pastoral paintings stroked before your very eyes.  Memories from your youth come rushing in–like that one time you pretended you had a fever so you could skip school just to watch him paint.  Man.  And then there was that one time you spent all the allowance you’d saved up for three years on that one B.R. painting you found on eBay with the river in it.  Those were some good times.

So you set out to buy a wig and some fake hair you’ll use to fashion a beard.  It’s really happening!  Let all the trees be happy, for tonight’s the night you channel that very same soothing energy so gracefully used to depict our mother earth.

Hmmm, Rob thought to himself.  I kind of look more like Cat Stevens.  I told everyone I was going to be Bob Ross.  What should I do?

I’ll tell you what you’re going to do, kiddo.  You’re gonna sell it…

And sell it he did:

…kind of.

A Friendly Reminder
